Get in touch
There's no support portal and no chatbot — email reaches a person who works on the tools. Bug reports and feature requests are read, and the annoying ones tend to get fixed first.
Email us
hello @ rosterowl.com
We aim to reply within a couple of business days. During the first week of a school year, make that a bit longer — we know why you're writing then, and so is everyone else.
Reporting a bug
A tool that misbehaves is worth telling us about even if you found a way around it. The things that help most:
- Which tool, and what you were doing when it went wrong.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- Your browser and device — "Safari on an iPad", "Chrome on a school laptop".
- If it's about a PDF, the PDF itself, which you can attach.
Please don't send us your class list. We never receive student names by design (here's how that works), and emailing them to us would be the one way to break that. A description, or a screenshot with the names blurred, is plenty.
Feature requests
The filter we apply is simple: does the stored class list make this better? Another way to use your roster is very likely a yes. A gradebook, a parent-messaging system, or behavior tracking is a no — not because they're bad ideas, but because they're a different product and we'd do them badly.
Schools and districts
If you need a vendor privacy questionnaire completed, a data-privacy agreement reviewed, or a written statement that no student data leaves the device, email us and say which form you need. The short version is on the about page.
Something's gone wrong with my saved classes
Because your data lives in your browser rather than on our server, we can't look it up or restore it for you — and we can't accidentally lose it either. If a class has vanished, try the same browser and device you set it up in, and check the version history inside the tool before doing anything else. Then email us: knowing how it happened is how we stop it happening to someone else.
