Blank attendance roster

Numbered rows down the side, a month of Mon–Fri columns across the top, nothing filled in — print it and write your students in by hand. Six sizes below, one page each. Free · no signup · no watermark.

Make your own roster instead

Paste your class list once and the names come out already on the sheet — alphabetized, numbered, and rebuilt for any month you pick. Still free, still nothing uploaded.

When the blank is the right answer

Sometimes you want paper, not data entry: a roster for a club that meets four times, a spare on the clipboard for a fire drill, a sheet for the volunteer who runs Thursday reading groups. Typing a class list to produce those is more work than the sheet saves, so this is the same grid with the names left out.

Every sheet here comes out of the identical renderer the filled-in roster uses — the row numbering, the column widths, the Mon–Fri layout are all the same. The only difference is that the name column arrives empty.

When it isn't

If you are going to print this every month for the same class, type the class list once instead. The attendance roster maker keeps your students on this device, alphabetizes them "Last, First", numbers the rows, and rebuilds the sheet for any month you pick — so next month is one click rather than 25 handwritten names. Add a student mid-year and every future roster includes them.

The same class list also fills your class checklist, name tags and certificates — which is the point of keeping one roster. Blanks for those tools are in the printables gallery.

Questions teachers ask

Which one should I print?

Standard, unless you know otherwise — 25 rows covers most classes with a few spare lines. Take the 35-row sheet for a big section, the 15-row one when you want room to write, portrait if it lives in a binder, and A4 outside the US.

Do the columns have dates on them?

No. The blanks lay out a full month of Mon–Fri columns with the dates left off, so one printout works for any month. The filled-in version puts the real day numbers and weekdays in for the month you pick.

Is it really free, with no watermark?

Yes. No signup, no watermark, no limit on how many you print. Every PDF here is built in your browser — the file is never uploaded anywhere to be made, and nothing about your class is sent.

Why is there an ink-saving version?

The day-header band is a solid fill, and on a staffroom printer that is running low it is the first thing to go patchy. The ink-saver sheet is lines only — identical grid, nothing shaded.

What if my class is bigger than 35?

Open the roster maker and paste your list: the rows size themselves to fit the whole class on one page, whatever the number, and the names come out alphabetized and numbered.

One roster, every other tool

Your class list is already saved in this browser — every tool below picks it up, with no names retyped and nothing uploaded unless you turn on sync.
